I don’t know about you guys but I absolutely love guacamole! It has been my favorite type of dip pretty much since the first time I ever tried it in college. During avocado season I make it pretty frequently. Sometimes we eat it for a late night snake during the NHL play off season. It is a great addition to any party or cook out and it also can be used to liven up your chicken at the dinner table. Where I live they are Mexican restaurants everywhere you go but it seems like I am never completely satisfied by their guacamole. Because of this I began my cooking adventure of trying to figure out a recipe of my own. After several different tries I have got it down and thought I would share it with you.
The following ingredients are necessary:
-One or two ripe avocado’s
-Tablespoon of Lime Juice
-Tablespoon of garlic paste
-Teaspoon of salt, paprika, and black pepper
First off you have to cube the avocado’s. Just a reminder a ripe avocado will be just a little tender to the touch and is usually a dark green color. An avocado that is not ripe yet is usually bright green and very firm. An over ripe avocado will be black and very squishy to the touch. Once the avocado(s) are cubed you can place them in a bowl.
Then you add all of the other ingredients: lime juice, garlic paste, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
The last step is very simple and just involves mashing the avocado’s up inside of the bowl with a fork.
That is it voila! You have some very delicious guacamole ready to be eaten with your favorite kind of tortilla chip or if you are feeling adventurous chicken and rice meal.
Do you like guacamole? What is your favorite kind of dip? How do you like to cook with avocado’s?
Lots of love,
